Held at the Open Field of Wisma Geylang Serai from 15 to 30 June 2024, this carnival is not just an event; it's a celebration of community, tradition, and the timeless charm of Peranakan heritage. A project for the community by the community, the carnival will showcase an array of smoothing music, captivating performances, and fun learning activities that celebrate the diversity of life. The carnival will officially commence on 15 June 2024, with a special appearance by Mr Edwin Tong, Minister of Culture, Community and Youth, Second Minister for Law, and Advisor to Marine Parade GRC GROs (Joo Chiat), alongside Mr Mohd Fahmi Aliman, Mayor of South-East District and Advisor to Marine Parade GRC GROs (Geylang Serai).
In conjunction with Joo Chiat’s 65th Anniversary, SHATEC will make its inaugural appearance at the Fun Fiesta Carnival, offering exclusive promotions on a range of Peranakan-themed or kueh courses.
