Sustainability @SHATEC


Sustainability @SHATEC connects the tripartite network of institution, industry and community to drive green hospitality outcomes in higher education.

Specific eco-learning objectives within Diploma programmes of the three specialisation tracks: Food Services, Hotel and Accommodation Services as well as Tourism, closely follow the four focus areas to green hotel operations delineated within the Hotel Sustainability Roadmap by Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Singapore Hotel Association (SHA):

  1. Water Conservation
  2. Waste Management, Recycling and Circular Economy
  3. Sustainable Sourcing and Procurement
  4. Energy Conservation

Our Framework


The Sustainability @SHATEC learning and development framework connects SHATEC trainees to current issues, trends and initiatives driving sustainability policies and standards in the hospitality industry and local communities.
