Chef Ahmet Akpinar
Executive Chef, THE MEDITERRANEAN Deli Turk

Chef Ahmet's culinary training started at the age of 10 as an apprentice at his father’s restaurant and by his 17th birthday, he was made a chef. However, 2 years later, he had to take a break for National Service where he served as a mountain commando.

After leaving the service in 2000, Chef Ahmet picked up where he left off and continued his passion for culinary excellence. In 2002, he was offered a position at a Chinese restaurant in Singapore where he worked for 6 years. Following this, he worked in Harbin and Malaysia for a year each before returning to Singapore to establish his career as a specialist in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines. His hard work and dedication to his craft was affirmed when he received the Star Chef award in 2014.

Over the course of his career, Chef Ahmet worked as a private chef for ambassadors in 5 different countries, cooked for many ministers and prepared numerous protocol dinners. He attended to international hotels as a guest chef for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines as well as international buffets. He also provided consultancy services to restaurants, and taught gastronomy at 2 private schools and a government school.
