Committee For Private Education & Edutrust

(SSG) Committee for Private Education

Private Education Act 2009 and Private Education Regulations 2009 was enacted in December 2009. The Private Education Act also establishes the Council for Private Education (CPE) to formulate and oversee the implementation of initiatives to regulate and develop Singapore’s private education sector. This includes the Enhanced Registration Framework and the EduTrust certification scheme. In October 2016, the Council for Private Education was renamed as the Committee for Private Education. EduTrust provides a framework for private education institutions to benchmark themselves against best practices.

All Private Education Institutions (PEIs) are required to comply with the regulations under the Private Education Act in order to continue operations. The EduTrust Certification Scheme (EduTrust) is a quality assurance scheme administered and governed by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) for Private Education Institutions (PEIs) in Singapore. The EduTrust certification is awarded to PEIs for sustaining an excellent level of performance in managing their institutions and providing high quality education standards and welfare for their students. SHATEC is 4-year EduTrust certified, demonstrating the excellent quality of our programmes and services as well as business operations.
