Refund Policy

Refunds for Withdrawal for Cause

Shatec Institutes shall inform the student within 3 working days if:

(i) It fails, for any reason, to commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date;

(ii) It terminates the Course, for any reason, prior to the Course Commencement Date;

(iii) It fails, for any reason, to complete the Course by the Course Completion Date;

(iv) It terminates the Course, for any reason, prior to Course Completion Date; or

(v) The Student’s Pass application is rejected by Immigration & Checkpoint Authority (ICA).

Shatec Institutes shall within 7 working days of notifying the student in writing of above circumstances (i) to (v), provide the student with information and details of the alternative confirmed course arrangement. The student shall be entitled to immediately withdraw from the Course by giving written notice to Shatec Institutes. Shatec Institutes shall within 7 working days after notifying the student, refund to the student the entire amount of school fees.

Refunds for Withdrawal Without Cause

All non-tuition fees are non-refundable. Course fees paid before commencement of the course are refundable but subjected to the following:

Shatec Institutes shall within 7 working days of receipt of the withdrawal request, make the refunds (if any) to the student.

Cooling-Off Period

A student is able to withdraw from the course with a submission of the Pre-Course Commencement Withdrawal & Refund Form (please hyperlink to the attached form and dun include the text in brackets in the actual para) within 7 working days after signing the Stndard PEI-Student Contract, notwithstanding if the course commencement date has passed. The student will be entitled to the maximum refund of course fees (less any course fees consumed by the Host if the withdrawal date is later than the course commencement date and the Host has started the course). After the cooling-off period, Shatec Institutes’ refund policy will apply.

Withdrawal Policy

Before Commencement of Course

Any request for withdrawal is to be accompanied with a duly completed Pre-Course Commencement Withdrawal & Refund Form, parental/guardian* consent (where applicable) and Letter of Authorization. The request has to be submitted to Student Admissions. Student Admissions shall within 7 working days of receipt of the Pre-Course Commencement Withdrawal & Refund Form, inform the student of the outcome and provide any refund, subjected to the Shatec Institutes’ refund policy.

After Commencement of Course

Any request for withdrawal is to be accompanied with a duly completed Post-Course Commencement Withdrawal Form with parental/guardian* consent (where applicable). The request is to be submitted to Student Support Services. Student Support Services shall within 7 working days acknowledge the receipt of the Post-Course Commencement Withdrawal Form. The official letter on acceptance of the request will be issued within 4 weeks from the date of receipt of the request.

* For students under 18 years of age, Shatec Institutes will seek parental/guardian prior to processing the request for withdrawal.
