Financial Assistance and Aids

SHATEC offers various financial assistance schemes to support needy students from low income families during their course of study.The financial assistance plans will help to offset some of the costs of daily living expenses such as meals and transportation for these students.

Tan Chay Bing Bursary

Eligibility

  • Singapore Citizens / Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Family Monthly Household Per Capita Income not exceeding S$900.00
  • Good performance in GCE ‘N’/’O’ Level or a minimum GPA of 2.5 in a preceding programme with SHATEC
  • Good Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) Records
  • Good character and conduct
  • The maximum quantum for the bursary is capped at S$250.00 x no. of months of institutional training duration.

Application

  • Applicants may obtain the financial assistance application form from Student Administration.
  • Applicants are required to submit supporting documents (including academic results, CCA records, certificates of achievements and household income documentary evidences). 
  • Applicants will be assessed based on the strength of their applications and their family financial situation

Terms and Conditions

  • The beneficiary must consistently maintain good passes and record good conduct.
  • The bursary will be terminated in the event the beneficiary’s academic results or conduct is less than satisfactory. 
  • If the beneficiary decides to withdraw from the School prematurely, the School reserves the right to impose repayment of all bursary​ monies disbursed to the beneficiary.
Park Hotel Bursary

Eligibility

  • Singapore Citizens / Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Family Monthly Household Per Capita Income not exceeding S$900.00
  • Good performance in GCE ‘N’/’O’ Level or a minimum GPA of 2.5 in a preceding programme with SHATEC
  • Good character and conduct
  • The maximum quantum for the bursary is capped at S$250.00 x no. of months of institutional training duration.

Application

  • Applicants may obtain the financial assistance application form from Student Administration.
  • Applicants are required to submit supporting documents (including academic results, CCA records, certificates of achievements and household income documentary evidences). 
  • Applicants will be assessed based on the strength of their applications and their family financial situation.

  • The student must complete 6 months industrial attachment with the bursary sponsor.
  • The beneficiary must consistently maintain good passes and record good conduct.
  • The bursary will be terminated in the event the beneficiary’s academic results or conduct is less than satisfactory.
  • If the beneficiary decides to withdraw from the School prematurely, the School reserves the right to impose repayment of all bursary​ monies disbursed to the beneficiary.
Needy Student Fund

Eligibility

  • Singapore Citizens / Singapore Permanent Residents.
  • Proof of financial hardship (Hospitalisation bills, retrenchment letter etc.).
  • The maximum quantum for the bursary is capped at S$250.00 x no. of months of institutional training duration.

Application

  • Applicants may obtain the financial assistance application form from Student Administration.
  • Applicants are required to submit supporting documents on financial hardship with a letter of recommendation from the Course Tutor.
  • Applicants will be assessed based on the strength of their applications and their family financial situation

  • The financial aid will be terminated in the event the beneficiary’s academic results or conduct is less than satisfactory.

Student Development Fund

Eligibility

  • Singapore Citizens / Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Strong academic and conduct records
  • Selected for special school programmes e.g. overseas study trip, students exchange programme
  • The maximum quantum for the financial aid is capped at 50% of fee payable for programme.

Application

  • Applicants may obtain the financial assistance application form from Student Administration.
  • Applicants are required to submit supporting documents on household income documentary evidences with a letter of recommendation from the Course Tutor.
  • Applicants will be assessed based on the strength of their applications and their family financial situation.
