Job Redesign and Innovation (Management)

Overview

This workshop is aimed at disseminating the Job Redesign (JR) Methodology that has been proposed for the hospitality industry in Singapore. Participants will be equipped with foundational knowledge on the methodology, as well as its implications for organizational revitalization and leadership. Specific techniques subsumed by the methodology may be discussed at greater depth to aid managers in curating their own best JR approach.

Creativity and the will to innovate are important underlying precursors of effective change projects, including the redesigning of jobs. As leaders and managers, participants will receive tips on how to engage employees, build trust and thus unlock their potential for innovative thinking in service of organizational JR initiatives.

Learning Outcome

By the end of the course, participants will have acquired the following learning outcomes:

  • Identify the drivers of change in the hospitality industry and reflect on the implications for leadership
  • Be aware of the Job Redesign impetus impacting Singapore’s hotels, and the various stakeholders and collaboration partners
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of the Job Redesign methodology, processes and outcomes, including implementation issues
  • Discover ways to be engage employees, build trust and coach for innovation
